Ley Lortie is a non-binary (they/them) multimedia artist whose practice centers around video (live and animation) and 3D modeling but who also explores music, sound, photography, poetry, performance and programming. Their inspiration is most often self-development, with topics in mental health, queerness, paganism, spirituality and witchcraft.

Artistic pursuit started as early as 5 years old in the form of ballet classes, closely followed by piano classes, then gymnastics, guitar, hip-hop dance, theatre and finally their academic studies brought them to cinema, electronic and digital art forms, video, sound, performance, and photography.

Ley has a BFA in Intermedia/IMCA with distinction from Concordia University and a DEP in Cinema from Dawson College (where they made the honours list three out of four semesters).  They worked for Dawson College both as a student and graduate on video editing and recording of promotional and archival footage of the academic festival “ScienceFest” as well as activities from their SPACE organization. They are currently working for Difuze inc. as an assistant video editor.
